Originally, the manager of the Steinberg domain used the classic vineyard house to coordinate all work and tasks. It was not until the mid-90s that the Pfaff family turned the building into a wine bar. Today, Carsten Pfaff is still the head of the Steinberg domain.

Assmannshäuser Im Höllenberg Spätburgunder

VDP.ERSTE LAGE®

“Höllenberg” is derived from the Old High German word “helda” (meaning “steep slope”). This plot, “Im Höllenberg,” is the original plot of Höllenberg, which gave the entire vineyard its name. The plots are located in the valley facing away from the Rhine, with a pure south-facing orientation.
