2023 Domäne Bergstraße VDP.AUKTION.RÉSERVE Riesling Goldkapsel
The monks recognized early on that they could produce excellent wines from the Riesling grape under the climatic conditions of the Hessische Bergstrasse. With this in mind, the winery still cultivates the centuries-old tradition of growing Riesling grapes today. The 2023 vintage produced a Riesling with an elegant body, fresh apple scent and perfect harmony.

This rarity is only vinified in very special years. Grown directly on the vineyard wall, the Pinot Noir gets its powerful and concentrated character from the warmth. Climate change makes future production impossible; the last vintage was harvested in 2018.
A ripe and intense fruit character, accompanied by nuances of raisins and scents of forest honey. A floral note and a hint of smoke add complexity to the bouquet. On the palate, the wine unfolds with warm, yet extremely gentle tannins. The acidity is dancing and gives the wine a lively freshness. A long finish rounds off the taste experience, with the aromas lingering for a while.

1925 BENEFIZWEIN – UNIKAT Assmannshäuser Höllenberg Spätburgunder Natur Cabinet
The 1925 vintage is a rarity and a true treasure from the Assmannshäuser cellar. It dates back to the era of the legendary cellar master Ewald Schug, who created some of the world's best Pinot Noirs until the 1950s and left his mark on our cellar with incomparable Höllenberg wines. Only a few top wines from the 1925 vintage have survived to this day, and this Pinot Noir holds a special place among them, as it is one of the world's best from this vintage.
The wine has a deep red-brown colour and impresses with notes of caramelized dried fruit, burnt caramel and a strong acidity. The aroma features red currants and a subtle forest floor aroma, which fades into subtle nuances of blueberries on the finish. A medium body and a concise acidity give it a fascinating structure and pronounced spiciness, making it an unforgettable wine experience.

2023 GOLDENER BECHER Steinberg Riesling Kabinett Goldkapsel VDP.GROSSE LAGE®
This year we are once again presenting a Kabinett from the GOLDENER BECHER Steinberg parcel. The Goldener Becher, in the upper part of the Steinberg, is characterized by weathered Taunus slate soils with quartzite inclusions. The name of the parcel is based on the regularly ripening, golden Riesling grapes, which, thanks to the south-southwest orientation of the vineyard, produce the best quality every year.
In the nose, the wine presents the typical slate tones. On the palate, it has an invigorating acidity, which is perfectly balanced by the residual sweetness. The wine is characterized by the typical citrus notes from the Steinberg, grapefruit and lychee stand out. A harmonious Kabinett that will give pleasure for a long time to come.

2015 Steinberger Riesling Kabinett Goldkapsel
The Steinberg has a long Riesling tradition as a monopollage of Kloster Eberbach. The grapes for our special Rieslings thrive in the special parcel, the GOLDENER BECHER, which is located in the upper section of the unique vineyard. This is also the case for this fine Kabinett wine. It presents ripe sweetness of yellow and red gooseberries, accompanied by a refreshing acidity. A slight hint of honey underlines the significance of the golden capsule for this wonderful Kabinett.

2020 Steinberger Wild Ferment Riesling trocken Doppelmagnum
After a legendary premiere at the 2023 auction, WILD FERMENT is entering its third round with the 2020 vintage.
A new vintage but based on the same principle: the original and uncompromising Steinberger.
To uncover the secret of the Cistercians' favorite vineyard, our head oenologist, Kathrin Puff, crushed the grapes in the vineyard and fermented the “free flow juice” in small wooden barrels in the Steinberg smithy. The impressive ageing potential is underlined by the fact that it is bottled in large bottles and only released after 5 years.
The diversity of aromas once again characterizes the 2020 Wild Ferment. Hints of brioche merge with nuances of grapefruit and tropical fruit. This wine impresses with a rich body and refreshing acidity, rounded off by an impressive and long-lasting finish.
