Hessen's most densely wooded nature park shows an extraordinary variety of different natural and cultural treasures on its 810 km2 area. Large populations of rare animal species such as the Bechstein's bat, the wildcat, the wolf and the black stork find an ideal habitat in the near-natural forests of the RhineTaunus Nature Park. At the same time, two UNESCO World Heritage Sites are part of the nature park - the "Upper Middle Rhine Valley" and the "Upper Germanic-Raetian Limes". With its hiking and biking trails, parking lots, picnic areas, adventure trails, barbecue huts and youth campsites, the RhineTaunus Nature Park offers relaxed local recreation for young and old and invites you to linger.
