Dive into the impressive world and life of the founders of Kloster Eberbach, the Cistercian monks.

Inside the monastery, a fascinating wine cellar with its historic presses and barrels, the monks' baroque-style dining room, the cloisters steeped in history with an impressive arcade window by the internationally renowned artist Thomas Bayrle, which he created out of innumerable smartphone motifs, and, of course, the impressive basilica awaits you.

In the abbey's museum, included in the walkabout tour, you can learn and experience the origins and history of the monastery with contemporary documents, sculptures and paintings. Over more than 700 square metres, preserved works of art and sacral objects, plus a range of items on loan from public, church and private collections - such as the historically unique grisaille window on loan from the Wiesbaden Museum – can be seen on the premises in Eberbach.
