Opening hours Eberbach Monastery

Visits to the former Cistercian Abbey of Eberbach in the Rheingau are only possible for day visitors while the monastery ticket office is open.

Group event bookings are also possible outside the times listed.

Low season (1 November to 31 March)
11:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday
09:00 to 19:00, Saturday and Sunday

The last admission is always 30 minutes before the ticket office closes.

Public guided tours of the monastery: Saturday and Sunday 14:00

Admission Prices until 5 p.m.

Admission for adults: 12.50 Euro per person (from 18 years)

Reduced admission: 9.50 Euro per person

  • Federal Volunteer Service (BFD) with certificate
  • Active volunteers in the Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) with evidence
  • Severely disabled persons with ID
  • On presentation of the Hesse Family Card
  • If arriving by public transport (RMV and RTV ticket)

Children and adolescents:

  • up to 5 years – free admission
  • Children from 6 to 17 years: 9.50 Euro
  • Pupils from 6 to 99 years: 9.50 Euro

Family ticket: 32.50 Euro

At the monastery cash office, amounts due do not have to be paid only in cash. All EC cards and credit cards from the following providers are also accepted: MasterCard, VISA, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, CUP Union Pay (China), JCB (Japan).

Please note that you are not allowed to bring dogs - except assistance dogs - into the monastery (visitors' tour). Our staff at the monastery ticket office will be happy to help if you wish to leave your dog on a leash in the Hospital Garden.

Eberbacher Good Evening Ticket (from 17 o'clock)

Especially on weekends, in view of the increased number of guests at peak times, we recommend that you also schedule visits during off-peak hours.
With our "Eberbacher Good Evening Ticket" you receive discounted admission to the monastery complex from 5 p.m.

Admission for adults: 11.00 Euro per person (from 18 years)

Reduced admission: 8.00 Euro per person (see above)

Children and adolescents:

  • up to 5 years – free admission
  • Children from 6 to 17 years: 8.00 Euro
  • Pupils from 6 to 99 years: 8.00 Euro

Family ticket: 30.00 Euro

Parking in Eberbach Monastery

The parking fee is a flat rate of 4 euros and can be paid by coin or card (VISA, Maestro and MasterCard). The parking fee is waived for visitors with a valid disabled pass.

For those arriving at the monastery with an electric car, four chargeable e-charging stations are available in the Great Monastery Courtyard.

For 10 euros per camper/night, you can spend the night in Eberbach Monastery under the starry sky against the impressive backdrop of centuries-old architecture. More information can be found here.
