Nine centuries of wine culture

A unique cultural heritage, the best sites and the highest quality standards: these ingredients make our wines a special experience.

The Kloster Eberbach wine estates stretch over almost 200 ha in the Rheingau and on the Hessian Bergstrasse. The vines for our wines and sparkling wines grow on this terroir – produced sustainably and gently, always demanding the best quality at an international level.

The history of the Kloster Eberbach winery goes back as far as the history of the cultural monument itself: even for the French monks who settled in the Rheingau at the beginning of the 12th century, viticulture was one of the essential occupations. What was initially intended for the monastery's own use soon developed into a sought-after commodity that secured its future and prosperity.

Today, this legacy is carried on by our 65 dedicated employees.

Despite its turbulent history over the past 900 years, the winery has lost none of its quality standards. We rely on the best vineyard sites, natural viticulture, gentle pressing, careful vinification and the identification of our employees with the winery. This applies to all our wines and is the secret of their high authenticity. This quality can be tasted with every glass.

Domain Steinberg

Riesling at the highest level

The Steinberg domain is around 900 meters from Eberbach Abbey in the direction of Hattenheim. It is considered one of the most valuable locations in the world.

The German red wine domain

The Assmannshäuser Höllenberg is considered one of the best red wine locations in Germany. This is where Pinot Noir is produced at the highest level.

Domain Rauenthal

Viticulture at the highest altitudes

Rauenthal is the highest wine-growing town in the Rheingau. The centerpiece is the Baiken, in the middle of which is our youngest domain.

Domain Bergstraße

The Burgundy Domain

Summer here starts a little earlier and ends a little later. With an area of almost 30 hectares, the domain is the only VDP winery on the Hessian Bergstrasse.
