The deep crimson shows the best of this wonderful vintage. The Pinot Noir is full bodied without being plump, with fruit that shows really ripe deep red berries, a bit of plum and lots of ripe raspberry. The fruit has the volume to mask the undisputed tannins and the acidity promises a freshness to match the rich appearance. Long and elegant.

Complex nose of red cherries, fennel seeds and roasted root vegetables. Unusually fresh acidity for this grape variety and makes the wine so bright. Excellent spiciness on the long filigree finish. Unfiltered.

2013 Assmannshäuser Höllenberg Mauerwein Pinot Noir aus dem Cabinetkeller Goldkapsel
An essence-like scent of eau-de-vie de cerises (cherries), pure and powerful, overwhelms the sensory perception. The incredible fruit paired with light meat and a considerable wood contribution, although this was administered in the best possible taste from the smoke of exquisite cigars and the box in which they come. The tannins are compact but never rough, the acidity surprisingly soft, the fruit totally juicy.

A little ethereal-herbal, slightly developed aroma with yellow fruity aromas, mineral hints and a touch of dark berries. 1943 CHARITY WINE– UNIKAT Assmannshäuser Höllenberg Pinot Noir Natur
The 80-year-old Pinot Noir is one of the best in the world. Grown in the middle of World War II and vinified to perfection by cellarmaster Ewald Schug under the most difficult conditions. The 43er Höllenberg is ruby red with intense berry aroma. The pleasant fullness, warmth and perfect harmony impress every Pinot Noir connoisseur. The trade magazine "Weinwisser" wrote in 2021: "[...] The best Pinot Noir I have ever had the pleasure to taste [...]".
